James Lelis, DDS, MD

A Salt Lake City, Utah native, Dr. Lelis made his way to California after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Utah. He attended Dental School at the University of California, San Francisco where he served his classmates as a member of the student government as well as various oral surgery related positions and received the Horace Wells award for outstanding achievement in the field of dental anesthesiology from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at UCSF, Dr. Lelis made his way to Southern California to pursue additional training in medicine and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Loma Linda University. Dr. Lelis earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the Loma Linda University, School of Medicine and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery professional certificate from the Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, which provides facial reconstructive surgery (orthognathic surgery), facial trauma surgery, microvascular reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery and more for Loma Linda University Medical Center, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (San Bernardino County), Loma Linda VA Hospital and Riverside University Health System – Medical Center.

In addition to training in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery during his residency, Dr. Lelis received training in General Surgery, Otolaryngology (ENT), Adult and Pediatric Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine and more. He is passionate about utilizing the skills and knowledge he received during his training to provide the highest quality whole person care to all of his patients in a kind and compassionate manner.
